The appointment process is more than just getting the customer's name, phone number, and vehicle type. Properly set appointments are the bridge between customer visits, making them more likely to return to your store.

During this meeting, we will discuss: 1. The benefits of returning customers 2. Establishing a "dressing history" 3. Prepare customers psychologically and financially through suggestions 4. The importance of exit interviews

You will leave this meeting with new ideas to improve your appointment settings and at the same time bring more business, and at the same time make customers want to know what they need to return and when they need to return to properly maintain their vehicle every time they visit.

Rowing gears with manual gearboxes are interesting, especially in light cars with too much horsepower. But when the gears start to creak and the clutch pedal sinks to the floor and you are stuck at the line or traffic lights, the shift lever suddenly becomes less interesting.

More importantly, fewer and fewer vehicles are equipped with manual transmissions when they leave the factory. This may be a problem because the new technician you hire may not have the knowledge base or experience to diagnose clutch problems to repair the variable-speed vehicle when someone enters the workshop.

Clutch problems can be difficult to pinpoint, especially without disassembling the components to see what they are. Summit Racing Equipment and Centerforce Clutches put together this introductory manual to help you troubleshoot the malfunctioning clutch. This does not cover all possible problems, but it can help newcomers and serve as a small refresher course for your experienced technicians.

The pressure plate drive belt is bent, broken or lost

Symptoms: • Difficult shifting (clutch hard engagement/disengagement) • Clutch noise possible causes: • Over-downshifting and missed shifts • Use the clutch as a brake to slow down the vehicle. Solutions: • Check the flywheel and resurface, if necessary Replacement• Replace clutch assembly

The clutch disc hits the flywheel or flywheel bolt

Symptoms: • Difficult shifting (clutch hard engagement/disengagement) • Clutch noise • The hub spring in the clutch plate is loose • It is difficult to adjust the free clearance of the clutch pedal. Possible causes: • The clutch plate is installed backwards • The flywheel bolt is incorrect (bolt head Too big) • Flywheel wear (improper surface repair or too thin) Solutions: • Replace the clutch disc • Check the pressure plate and replace if worn • Check the flywheel crankshaft bolt, if worn or the size is not appropriate, replace • Check the flywheel, if necessary replace

The friction material of the clutch plate is chipped or bent

Symptoms: • Difficulty in shifting gears (clutch hard engagement/disengagement) • Clutch slippage-unable to maintain vehicle power • Clutch noise Possible causes: • The clutch disc dropped during installation or removal • The calibration tool not used to install the clutch disc is resolved Solution: • Replace the clutch disc

Symptoms: • Clutch slipping-unable to maintain vehicle power • Premature clutch wear. Possible causes: • Improper running-in procedure • Too much clutch preload (improper adjustment) • Too large clutch slip due to driving style • Engine or gearbox leakage Oil solutions: • Repair the oil leakage, clean the bell and clutch release parts • Check the flywheel and resurface, replace if necessary • Adjust the clutch pedal clearance • Replace the clutch assembly and follow the correct running-in procedure

Throw the bearing and/or clutch fork improperly installed

Symptoms: • Clutch pedal hard and/or pulsation • Release bearing noise • Difficult gear shifting (clutch hard engagement/disengagement) Possible causes: • Incorrect installation of front fork and/or release bearing • Clutch preload is too large (improper adjustment) ) • Solutions for the clutch release connecting rod worn or damaged: • Check whether the dump bearing is worn and replace if necessary • Check whether the gearbox input shaft collar is worn and replace if necessary • Check the pressure plate diaphragm finger and if necessary Replace the pressure plate • Adjust the clutch pedal clearance • Check the clutch release link and replace the necessary ones if necessary

Diaphragm finger wear on pressure plate

Symptoms: • Difficulty in shifting gears (clutch hard engagement/disengagement) • Difficulty in adjusting the free clearance of the clutch pedal • Clutch slip-unable to maintain vehicle power • Premature clutch wear Possible causes: • Improper installation of external bearings • Clutch preload Too large (improper adjustment) Solution: • Replace the release bearing • Check whether the transmission tube and bearing ring are worn, repair or replace if necessary • Adjust the clutch pedal clearance • Check and regrind the flywheel, replace if necessary

Pressure plate overheating-a serious hot spot

Symptoms: • Clutch slipping-unable to maintain vehicle power • Clutch trembling (flutter) • Premature clutch wear possible causes: • Improper running-in procedure • Excessive clutch preload (improper adjustment) • Solutions to excessive slip due to aggressive driving style Solution: • Check and repair the flywheel, replace if necessary • Adjust the free clearance of the clutch pedal • Replace the clutch assembly and follow the correct running-in procedure
