An ad for Season 3 of Prime Video's The Boys has the leader of the Seven, Homelander, destroy a perfectly good truck in real-life in Japan.

An ad for Season 3 of Prime Video's The Boys recently had Homelander destroy a truck bearing Billy Butcher's face.

Photos of the ad circulated online, showing a truck in Japan with a heavily damaged rear. In the sizeable dent is the figure of a terrified civilian and a proud Homelander. The Boys actor Antony Starr, who plays the leader of the Seven in the show, responded to the image positively.

Season 3 of The Boys premiered on June 3 and has earned generally positive reviews overall. However, the highly-anticipated third season of The Boys series has also become the target of review bombing. Season 3 has received a number of one-star reviews from Internet users criticizing the plot for being too political, sexually explicit and "anti-male," among other things. There are also some complaining about the weekly release of the show, as opposed to a binge-able simultaneous release.

This season of The Boys centers on the search for Soldier Boy, who the titular gang believes is connected somehow to a secret weapon capable of finally eliminating Homelander. The Seven's leader, meanwhile, is growing increasingly unhinged.

One of the more highly-anticipated characters in series is Soldier Boy, played by Jensen Ackles. The newest addition to the Prime Video series' cast has briefly appeared throughout Season 3 so far and differs greatly from his comic book counterpart. Speaking to CBR, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke explained, "[Writer] Garth Ennis, who I thought did a brilliant, brilliant job with The Boys [comic]... In his particular story, he needed a Captain America who was just like a completely bumbling loser. Homelander was the alpha, and that was sort of the point... For us, we needed someone to be a threat. Like we normally do, it starts with character. The storyline would be that just as Homelander is finally achieving his dream of being in control of the company, his most dire threat is released."

New episodes of The Boys Season 3 release Fridays on Prime Video. Episode 5, "The Last Time to Look on This World of Lies," is scheduled to hit the streaming service on June 17.
